Housewifery

Last week I bought a new iron at Target and was also looking at their kettles because ours is rusty on the bottom and stains the kitchen counters.  I didn't really see one I loved and B reminded me about the cast iron one he gave me for our anniversary last year.  I was only using that one to make large pots of tea by boiling the water in the ugly white rusty electric kettle and pouring it into my nice purple cast iron teapot.  Now I've been boiling water on the stove and drinking tea all day long out of my fancy teapot.  

Yesterday I embroidered and sewed up a new hot pad to rest my teapot on.  I'm also going to make some tea towels with the knife and fork fabric.

I have been dreaming about making curtains and buying [or making?] a new ottoman.  B and I are having creative differences about the fabric for the curtains.  It is reminding me of when we were planning for our wedding and he wanted to have input on all the dishes and housewares for our apartment.  I think the worst part is that he is usually right about things like that!  I've been browsing through design magazines and design websites, which has made the decision making that much more difficult!  Any suggestions?
